How to Stop Excessive Sweating Fast?

Do you think you sweat too much? It’s normal to sweat, and when you’re doing strenuous activities, it’s also normal to sweat more than usual. What is excessive sweating and how can we tell if it’s too much?

It’s quite simple, really. Perspiration is our body’s solution to cool down our bodies to regulate our temperature. If you’re playing a hard game of basketball of football, expect to have to change your shirt afterwards. If you’re just inside the house watching TV and the remote control slips from your hands from too much sweat, then that’s excessive. You see, when our body perspires more than what it needs to regulate our temperature, we can say that’s too much.

For those who suffer from the embarrassment of excessive sweating, here are a few tips and options for you to take control of your health and your life:

• Improve your hygiene

o Take a shower everyday or as often as you need to. Use a good germicidal soap so that even when you sweat during an activity, you won’t reek as much and people won’t run from your smell.

o Use an antiperspirant that has aluminum chloride, which helps control sweat, and not a deodorant. Remember, deodorants do not prevent sweat. They just mask the smell if you have body odor.

o Always bring a change of clothes for when your shirt gets drenched with sweat. Wipe yourself with a towel or anything clean. If you have powder, put on lots. You’ll feel cleaner and fresher. Plus, your friends will appreciate it.

o If you have excessively sweaty hands or feet, always bring a towel or tissues.

• Consult a doctor

o Don’t be shy to seek professional help. Your condition might have already taken a toll on your self-esteem, so it’s understandable to be shy or embarrassed about your problem, but don’t be. Put a stop to it and exhaust whatever means you have to help yourself. You’ll be glad you did.

o Be honest with the details. Don’t say, “I use up just two shirts a day” when in reality you have to change five times a day. You have to communicate to the doctor the extent of your sweating, so that the most effective solution can be prescribed.

o Don’t be shy on telling the doctor what you’re comfortable with. There might be suggestions for treatments that you are not comfortable with, such as the cost or procedure. Ask questions about the procedure. Ask other people who have undergone the procedure if it was safe and effective.

• Do some research about your sweating problems

o Research on the internet. Nowadays, it’s the easiest way to acquire information on something that you’re boggled with. Compare sources. Ask around on forums or mailing lists that discuss ailments. Better yet, look for a forum that discusses excessive sweating. Ask about what treatments they have tried and if they have more information about your condition.

o Check out books. Check out your local library for books about health. Ask your librarian if they have books that discuss excessive sweating. They won’t ask too much and if they do ask, you can always pass it off as a school project.

o If you suddenly hear some amazing cure for your condition, research on it first. There are many opportunists out there, especially on the internet. There are some quack medicines under our noses that we realize too late are ineffective.

These are only a few ways to stop excessive sweating. Do the third step, and you’ll unearth some more!
